Community Clubs:

These are our local netball clubs, run entirely by volunteers. Each club consists of a number of teams. The Boroondara Netball Association communicates with the Club Secretary who then passes the information on to the member teams.

Anyone from the local community may apply to join a club where they will eventually be placed in an appropriate team. Some clubs grade their teams and have "selections"; others select by friendship groups.

Each club has an elected Committee of Management who rely heavily on the assistance of other volunteers to run their programs ie) team managers, coaches, umpires etc. Clubs manage all aspects of their own teams including uniform, awards, coaching, umpiring, player registrations, team selection and training.

School Clubs:

These differ from Community clubs only in that they are school based and managed by enthusiastic, employed administrators. Each administrator must work within a  budget, follow strict guidelines and policies as determined by the individual school and report directly to the schools' Physical Education Department.

Individual Teams:

In addition to teams playing under the umbrella of a club, we have many teams formed from groups of friends, netta netball groups and other schools without employed netball administrators. These teams are self-managed, usually by parents, teachers or players themselves. They must organise their own uniforms, coaches, umpires and team administration. Once again these people are volunteers.
